? for Robyn

Robyn, I came across a python at the Lakewood "Ss-n-Ts" today which they stated was a Borneo short tail that someone had brought in and reported they had gotten it from you as a hatchling. It looked like a Sumatran red to me and it had the very nice coloration and pattern that your stock has. The owner had kept it in very poor conditions and it is emaciated, boney and has a noticable RI. It has warmed up and gotten hydrated at the shop and has started to eat again so I think it can be salvaged. My question for you is, were you selling Borneo hatchlings approx 1-11/2 years ago so it is possible it is a Borneo? I have seen your reds on your website but no mention of Borneos so I am checking to see if someone was full of $#!^ or if it could be true. It looks so much like a red to me I'm having trouble believing it is a Borneo but I am no expert in identifying sickly Curtis'. I am in the market for a yearling mate for my Borneo (my Borneo looks like a Borneo) that if it heals up and fattens up I may be interested in it. Any words of wisdom???

we haven't had any Borneo babies for many years now, it is most likely a Red Blood on the yellower side.

hate to hear of it's very poor condition, that's a bummer, but at the same time, that doesn't make a "rescue" situation necessarily worthwhile either. i think "rescuing" poor health animals from a retail store only encourages more poor stocking and care...

i just wish folks took better care of their animals.

anyway, no, if it is really from us (that could be a ploy) i don't believe it is a Borneo : )

Thought things seemed kinda fishy, thanks for confirming my suspicions. It was a beautifully colored and patterned snake, I hope it heals up and goes to a good home.
