ParaDox BP...

trooper walsh Dec 20, 2003 01:09 AM

>>This is "Dox"...the male Paradox Albino BP which I hatched out a few months back. I might have posted some pics of him soon after hatching...if so this pic is an update...as he has grown considerably since that time...

Dox has become one of my all time favorite snakes...! He pounds rat pups every few days....and his colors seem to becoming more vibrant with each shed...!! It's a real treat to open his cage and gaze upon him every day... Anyway...enjoy the pic...and maybe if you are real good Santa will bring you one of these critters for Christmas - lol...!...TW

cleaning solution that will surely get the black out. But it's only available in Canada. Just send him to me and I'm sure I could get him looking the way he should in...oh...a couple of years or so.

NICEST Dox out there Trooper!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!

Hey Trooper, very nice animal. That is one of my future breeding goals! I will be breeding albinos to three different types of "IMG's" in the near future in hopes of producing these.Very Very nice!

I really want to be able to consistantly be able to produce paradox. I think this girl may be a key ingredient. I'm relly hoping she will prove out co-dominant, hopefully in 2004.

Hello Bill,
Nice looking IMG! I have a young male and he is one of my favorites. It will be interesting to see what your breeding produces. I wonder if it will produce a normal albino at hatching that over time develops the black scales or if the IMG will be expressed instantly. I'm also wondering if one trait might cancel out the other. Good luck with that project and keep us informed.

....albino= n melanins

....paradox=unexplainable

.........

good luck..........

BillLubak Dec 20, 2003 09:12 PM

I'm not sure exactly what will happen but I'm pretty motivated by the project. I'm sure whatever gene causes the increase in melanin will be stromg enough to come through even on an albino. I'm not sure if the color will show right away or will come out in time. Should cause a genetic explosion. And your right, this girls a pleasure to look at and has a great appetite and feeding response!

Very nice!

I haven't been following real close but have all (not many I know) of the paradox albino balls come from breedings involving at least one het (i.e. none from albino X albino)? Have any of the paradox been breed yet and if so did they prove to be homozygous albino or heterozygous albino? I think most are assuming that they are homozygous albino and this may well be the case but I was just wondering if the possibility that they are het albinos has been disproved.
