Ok I recently recieved A couple geckos. This was 2 days ago. Well everytime I come near the cage they run away. I'm afraid I won't be able to tame them. They are both females. One is 20 grams the other is 27 grams. Are females known to be more agressive than males? I recieved these leos from crestedgecko.com. Anyone else go through them? ANy ideas how to tame my babies?????

Thanks for any advice

Danielle

My best guess would be stress..you say they were shipped...think about how scared you would be if you were stuck inside a box being moves around for about 10 hours scary huh?..Theres nothing to worry about.
usually all baby leos are afraid to be handled. and almost always run away if you go by their tank. It takes about a week for them to settle down and become acustomed to their new enclosures.
The best way to tame them is just to leave them alone for a week. then start handling..or stick your arm into the tank for 10 minutes a day to get them used to you, then the handling sould start. Babies and juvi leos are alot more jumpy than others..although there are some babies and or juvis that are quite tame. good luck with them, hope this helps

yeah I understand about the stress. I've also been holding off on feeding them cause I know they probably won't eat cause they are stressed from the shipping. They are doing better. They come out of the hidding and explore.

THanks
