burned leg..

myrenite Dec 20, 2003 09:47 AM

wel.. my collared has a burned leg.. i think she got it from a stone which was under a bulb..(i remove it). bottom of one "foot" is pink, hasn't got brackes (hulls?), is a little bit swollen. there is no blood or anything like this. my question is. should i do anything with it? i put her "foot" into rivanol because i didn't know if it was infected. i think that everything is all right; she jumpes normally, eats normally, everything is ok. temporarily i also gave her instead of substrate a towel to avoid injuries when she jumpes. should i leave this leg to heal by itself or maybe make her a lining (but from what?)

Hi, Collareds like it pretty hot and I never heard of one burning his leg, if temperatures are right.
Basking 100- 105
Do you have a heat rock in there? I don't use them, but a few on here do, and I don't think any of them ever had a problem.
They are not recommended for other herps though.

Was there anyway he could have touched the light?

Anyway it seems you have taken good care of his leg or foot.
I would put some sort of neosporin or burn ointment on it, for a while and keep him on Paper towels.

*They can catch their nails in a towel, (if terry cloth)
Sure hope he does fine, sounds fine ! Take care,

Eve
