I've been looking too... Haven't found any so far, let alone captive bred ones.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

There are some good photos of this species at this link plus some of its close relatives.
Claudius photos here

Those are good pictures.
There is another site (a Japanese one) called endlessturtlephotos or something like that. It has some really killer pictures of Claudius including some leucistic ones.
Also, another Japanese website translated "My Favorite Turtle" is devoted to nothing but mud turtles and it too has some incredible Claudius.

Do you have the urls for these sites?

mayday Dec 27, 2003 06:23 PM

go to
http://www.h3.dion.ne.jp/~kame3/index.htm

everything is in Japanese but click on everything underlined or boxes. There are a LOT of pictures of breeding, feeding, housing etc but you have to hunt all around to find them....or read Japanese.

kool site.nice triporcatus pics there.

Yep. But you really have to hunt around...there is all kinds of stuff there but you have to click on everything.
Also, there was another very neat site called Jurrasic Turtles but I can't seem to get it. Plus, in the LINKS there was another Japanese site that had snapping turtles, Staurotypus and Claudius heads on the home page. You would click on each 'head' and then there would be some incredible captive specimens there.
Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore.
