Thank you very much. I am always working to improve and it is great when it pays off. I may start selling some of them to any one who might be interested. I am still working to get the printing exactly the way I want it, but I am close.

To anyone looking to print your digital pics, try Sams. You may want to bump up the gamma a little, but they have very nice prints and a unbeatable price.

I print mine on a canon photo printer which has different ink wells for the different colors....The results have been fantastic. I highly recommend canon printers.

I have a canon S900.

It is just a ton cheaper to print them at Sams. .20 for a 4x6.
For the canon pro paper its $10 for 20 4x6, not to mention the ink. Now it does very well on the ink, but still. Speaking of... I'm out of ink.

in my opinion i think epson makes the best printers, nothing against canon... but in the graphic design trade (which i am involved in) we tend to use epson printers. this is because the results are close to what a profesion print job would look like... but this maybe just the people i know hahaha. but they are great, and they have switched (i think all printers) over to the individual inks... makes ink go further. but i have no doubt that canon makes a good printer, and probably for cheaper as well. just thought i'd throw out another good company to choose from.

jbeetle Dec 20, 2003 09:52 PM

oh, also the higher end epsons can print up to 19"x13"... which would allow you to print some really nice sized photos.

I like epson also, and the top of the line does print a little better than my canon (better darks, and depth). The things I do not lik about epson are this:

I've had 2 older ones that have not lasted a year, and the ink is a lot more per color, and page printed. Now this may not be true any more but when I was shopping for a new printer it was about $5 more a color for the epson ink. I can get the canon ink for $8-10 a color now. They are very comparable, but from my own experience I think the canon is a much better built product.

Either way Sams club prints are 1/2 the price or less than printing them at home, and the pictures will not fade like the ink jets will. Put a ink jet picture in direct sunlight for a few days. I've heard they fade very fast. Not that you would want to do that with any pciture, but they fade a bit faster.
I do not do as much printing as I thought I would and wish I would have bought a normal laser printer now, and just used Sams.
