Back heat vs. belly heat

marty_gecko Dec 20, 2003 03:56 PM

Has anyone had racks with both back heat and belly heat. (not together) Did you find that one works better? Thanks in advance.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two

I think cages heated by belly heat work much better. I have both, and spent alot of money on a cage heated from the back. I hate the cage! There is a significant temp. gradient from top to bottom. I also get better growth rates with belly heated cages.

I agree with Bill.. belly heat is preferred over back heat. I have also found that back heat raises the room temperatures much more than with belly heat, which can actually narrow the thermal gradient across the enclosures.
