Is there such thing as a black cornsnake. I mean one that is like jet black. I think this would be kinda cool cause there is Bloodreds that are all red, and Blizzards (my fav.) that are all white. Just wondering.

thanx

but when it happens, they will be worth a bundle. There are no leucistic corns yet, either (the white ones with blue/black eyes), and they might be worth even more when it happens.

You may want to check into Black Rat Snakes, they have a temperment very similar to corns and quality specimens can be jet black as adults. They do get a bit larger than corns though.

The one in the pic was only about six months old at the time, they become darker and darker as they age and are not solid black until they are a little older.

Yeah my friends dad has a male CB and a female Wc (we think the havents been probed and have never mated) and a green ratsnake CB.

I was just wondering because i was on a website that said they were selling black cornsnake but i never heard of them so i had to ask the "experenced one" to see if it was true.

thanx again

Why would you want to breed a corn for black coloring when you can already get a black rat snake. The Black rat snake (Elaphe Obsoleta Obsoleta) when from the east coast and parts of Missouri are jet black and beautiful. When raised from hatchling and given the same care, they are just as easy going as any corn!! The great thing about them, is they attain lengths a little bigger than the corn. If your interested, there are lots of people who breed these nice animals and they are not expensive either! Take a look at them and good luck.

there was no real reason i was just wondering cause there are corns with all the other colors.

I know a bit about Black rats my friend has two. plus i do quite a few field herping when i am backpacking in the appalachains (spell)in the summer and they are one of the most common snakes i catch (catch, photo, and release)

i guess i was just a little curious
