My moroccan female came!

mike3 Dec 20, 2003 10:13 PM

My two female moroccans came today. The small female is one of the most colorful sub-adult female moroccans i have ever seen. She is only 130 grams and about 9.5 inches long, and has amazing color. She is totally green, with yellow and black from head to toe. She also has a little red on her tail. The large female isn't as colorful, but is a lot lighter overall. She is shedding so i cant really see how colorful she it. The only problem is she is mising almost all of her back feet digits which i never heard about, and she has a deformed jaw. It isn't anything serious, but you can notice it if you look closely. Other than that they are perfect. But i have to say, the smaller female is perfect, she has great color, very tame, already eating, acclimated/basking roaming around, and is in perfect condition. I am going to try to breed the larger female which is 200 grams to my male and keep the smaller female separate so hopefuly by next year she will be ready to breed. I am quarantining (sp) them for about 3-4 weeks.

hi mike3;
that's great. i guess they were packed
and shipped ok. did he ship overnite or did he delta dash them(faster but more $
to ship). i'm still worried about shipping the benti, Mark said they don't take the
cold as well as some of the other uro species. were the heat packs still warm
when you received them? you said something about living in the chicago area and i know it's colder there than where i'm at
in so. illinois. anyway, that's great you
received them and keep us posted on how their doing.goodluck.

He sent them on Thursday morning and they were supose to arrive friday at noon, but they arrived saturday afternoon. He packed them in really good, basically exactly the same a doug ships his animals. If he ships them after Christmas they should be fine. My box was delayed because the post office was busy. I think they should be fine. He puts in 20 hour heat packs. And even with the delay my animals were alive and well. So i think they should be fine if they were shipped during the winter, but do whatever he thinks is best for the uros because he is the expert. Mine were shipped while they were in brumation, so i think that helps them handle the cold weather a lot better. Do whatever he thinks is best, because he knows what he is doing.
