Question about ACF breeding, kinda directed to ginevive

pacman89 Dec 20, 2003 10:46 PM

I Saw ginevive's pic of the backwards breeding and i noticed that my ACF had his arms like that over the other. It was the right way, but they are just babies. So what does this mean? I thought it was unusual since the one ACF had its arm so tightly around the other. BTW they are about an inch and a half long

I moved the tank a few weeks ago into a cooler room, and then a few days ago, moved it back into the living room and the tank temp. rose. maybe this triggered the breeding behavior?
How big are your frogs? Mine are not really that big; the female is only about three inches snout to vent.
If he's amplexing, be prepared to see some eggs in there! Be careful; my female was eating the eggs, and I only wonder how many had been eaten before I saw them this morning!

My ACF was always ready to breed...year round. He called baiscally every week at least once. I put my budgetts frog in with him sometimes while I was changing my budgetts tank, and he would go into amplexus with a male budgetts frog. I think if you have a male and female pair, then you should probably not even have to instigate breeding as they will do it themselves. Andy

lol, I could imagine him grabbing the other male. He was probably saying, "dude, I am not a chick!"
