Supplements, calcium and multis

Noodle_Boy Dec 21, 2003 12:01 AM

Okay.. Since I got my leo I had been dusting his mealies with calcium every feeding. He seems to like it, and automatically asociates the calcium with food. 2 weeks ago I started trying to feed him mealies dusted with rep cal herptivite multivitamin once a week. Either, he's not used to the smell/taste, or he just doesn't like it.. because he doesn't really go for them that much if at all, and sometimes he'll just lick the worm and walk away. I read in the back of the herptivite bottle that they suggest you mix that with calcium and dust with that every feeding, but I was skepticle. Would mixing the calcium and the multivitamin together negate anything? Because I think that's the only way he's going to learn to accept the taste. Also, should I use this mix for every feeding? Thanks for any input.

I use Repcal calcium without D3 6 days a week and Repcal Herptivite 1 day a week with Repcal Calcium with Vitamin D3 and Minerall O. I haven't seen any of my 6 leos dislike any of the powders. I don't think a multivitamin supplement should be used everyday thats possibly too much. Mine where all raised that way one crikcets and the 4 ones I got at juvis where breeding size at 5 months or less. The later two I've only had for 2 months and they where already 4 months old but the male has double in weight since that time.

Every person's got his or her own way of doing it.

I'm not saying you should do this too, but I don't use a multivitamin supplement at all. But I also really work on giving them a nutritious gutload.
