White Crusties

Spangles Dec 21, 2003 12:24 AM

My turtle has white crusties around his eyes, does anyone know what this could be? I need to know whether or not he needs to be rushed to a vet for care!

I just read your post. You did not say if the turtle's eye were open or closed. It sounds to me like it has some sort of cold, or infection. Make sure you are providing UV light each day, and cleaning the tank as much as possible.

If you have any opthmalic antibiotic ointment, such as erythromycin, that may help too. If you don't see any improvement in a few days, it is time to call your vet.

Let me know how it is doing.
