Last night I was at one of the only decent pet stores around, 'pets unlimited' it's a chain store that's put up about ten locations in the last two years- but they do have pretty knowlegeable staff. Good merchandise too. Don't get me wrong, it's a good store. Only problem is that they were selling a bunch of unhealthy green anoles for about $20 apiece. Or plain leopard geckos for $100 apiece. But then again, with no rival pet stores, these people can easily sell 15-30 small anoles and house geckos a week It makes me wonder- with such a town we live in here, that if everybody actually cared for there pets, everybody must own a whole basement full of herps by now. Every time I go there seems to be someone walking out with a 5-gallon tank, a bag of "calci-sand", a heat rock, and an anole. It's no wonder they need to come back for more.
