hey guys... my moms boyfriend has a redtail boa. lately, at nite more so, he's been weezing, mouth closed. last nite he's been weezing with his mouth slightly open. he's in a breeder tank that's wide... can't remember the gallons, but it's big enough for him to stretch out over his branches. we're in the process of building him a HUGE cage. I'm not sure of his temps either, i can find out later on today what he's kept at. He's also got UVB lights and heat lights, and a large heat rock (we test it twice a week to make sure it's not getting too hot, it's just warm).
We just steralized his cage, and removed the aspen in case it was too dusty. For the time being, we put down brown paper bags for his bedding.
Can anyone help me with his weezing? my guess is an upper respritory infection... our vet is on vacation for the next 2 weeks... his sub is NOT someone i trust anywhere near any of my animals. Trust me on that one!
what temps should we set him at, if that's not what it already is. he's got a heat gradient... and he's most often at the warmer end.
