Pacman frog playing dead?

xcrashx21 Dec 21, 2003 01:37 PM

My pacman frog has been acting strangely about the last 1 1/2 weeks. I usually take him out of his tank to feed him to prevent him from becoming compacted. Recently he started sticking his tongue out and then putting his front legs in his mouth. Is this normal?

The frog was shedding. Totally normal. They eat their skin after they shed it and push it into their mouths with their front limbs. Andy

I have had him for about eight months and never seen him do this. Thank you.

He probably had been shedding when you were not around. I will often come home to find that my horned frog has shed in my absence, and I have this sparkling-new frog with nice clean skin for ten minutes, until he re-buries himself. Alot of times, you don't catch them in the act.
