? on meal worms and super woems..does a super worm go into athe stage before the beatle like meal worms??also woul 50 meal worm beayles be eniugh to slowly start colony??

Yes Super worms go through a pupae stage. And, I think that 50 beetles would start a colony, although slowly, they would.

Unless someone has any additional information.

Yes the superworms do change into ‘aliens’ before they turn into beetles, just like mealworms. The only difference is that superworms usually need to be isolated from other worms before they will change. There is plenty of information on the web about breeding all sorts of worms.

50 mealworm beetles will get you started. I’d try to come up some more if this is your fist time breeding mealies. Make sure to feed them daily, they tend to scavenge the baby mealworms and eggs if they don’t have a fresh moisture source. Let us know if you have any more questions, and good luck!

After the aliens turn into beetles, it'll take about 3-4 weeks for the beetles to die, then another 3-4 weeks before you start to see any baby mealworms, plus another month (or more) until they're big enough to feed to your geckos.
