My brother just gave me his russian tortoise and he has been feeding it lettuce. Is that good for the little guy or what do i feed him? I got him dandilions but he wont eat them. Thanks Thomas

Russians are browsers by nature. They mostly eat broad leaf weeds for the most part. If that is the only tortoise you got, start with some 'Spring Mix' that is a packaged salad mix that you can find at most grocery stores. He'll probably start on this. Then once you got him going do some searching on the net under Testudo horsfieldi and Russian tortoise and you should come up with tons of info.
Also on the net check out this site.

And finally I like throwing in some Mazuri tortoise diet for good measure. I've had some good results with feeding this in addition to the greens.
