i was wondering how often beardies can eat supers
Mine eats them as a staple food. I use cricket gutload which the supers love, and then pick out the recently molted ones from the rest. Draconis eats at least one or two a day with his regular greens, and loves them so much that he refuses crix now altogether. Of course I make sure to "behead" them beforehand to prevent any complications.

I did not know to "behead" them first! I give my dragons superworms with the heads and everything, but they are the small size superworms. I will make sure and do that from now on, but, YUCK!

For the supers, it's best to. If your beardie has trouble chewing the whole worm, the head could survive and actually start trying to chew OUT of your beardie! Not a pleasant thought!!! I don't take any chances, I get rid of that head regardless. And I can throw in a couple "prepared" supers into his greens mix to keep them from running away, as an added treat to his salad.

There is no reason to cut the heads off supers before feeding them to your dragons. If you've ever watched a dragon eat a super before, it is dead the second it hits its mouth, let alone sitting in stomach acid. A superworm WILL NOT chew out of your dragon. Period.
of a dragon's stomach. Do you hear the crunch, crunch that happens when you feed your beardie superworms? That can translate into dead, deader.
Even if the dragon swallowed it whole I'm sure the acid in it's stomach would kill it in no time at all. Plus, if crickets are known to chew on beardies when they sleep what's to keep them from burrowing out of the dragons stomach. Have you ever heard of that happening? It really does sound like a bunch of BS to me and God knows there's a ton of that flying around the net these days!
FYI, I've seen plenty of posts on this forum indicating it's a myth and not to believe it.

Thanks guys, I thought that sounded a little weird, and I posted about it on another board, they also told me it was a myth.
it is a myth but there is a purpose, cutting the heads off keeps the superworms from biting your beardie, (if it ever got a chance)
