Norcal might have some.... They're advertising 5-6 month old males in the classifieds, but they probably have females if you E-Mail them. Also Chameleon Corral almost always has 6 month old females of every locale, although I'm not sure I would recommend buying from them. Do you need an older female? Kammers, ABR and others always have some younger ones on hand.

Hi-
Just thought I would point out that not all Ambanja's are the same color wise. There are red, blue, and purple bar Ambanja's, you will want to get a blue bar female if you have a blue bar male or a red if you have a red male and so on to keep the color pure. If you don't mind a mix then don't worry much about it. Hope this helps!

I sure anyone who has kept ambanjas know there is no such thing as a real purple bar ambanja. The "purple" presents itself becuase there is a good blend of red and blue speckles to produce this viusal effect. All ambanjas have these two colour pigments in their bars. what creates a certain visual appreance or colors in the bars are these pigments. Sometimes a sepcific ambanja's blue pigments outnumber the red, and thus you have blue barred ambanjas. Some red pigments outnumber the blue, thus you have red barred ambanjas. some even change the amount of blue to red pigment ratios throughout their life. but what ever it is, there will always be these two colours in any ambanja's bars. Thus, if you have a blue barred ambanja at one time, you might eventually end up with a red bar, only to go back to a blue bar at some point. so there really isn't much difference in the color or bars of an Ambanja, but you could certainly pick an offspring from a lineage that has known to have predominat blue pr red barrs.Still, that is no guarantee, speaking from first hand experience.
Hi-
Thanks for pointing that out, I should have made it more clear. I was just trying to point out that if her boyfriend was breeding for more blue, then it would be smarter to introduce a higher blue bar bloodline, rather then introduce a higher red bar bloodline. The purple bar is created by equal red/blue mix in the bars, but in the trade they are referred to as purple bar because of the illusion the red/blue mix gives. I hope you did not think I was saying the actual bar was purple!

well thanks for the color pigment lesson
I did know this already but hopefully this helped someone.
he does not care what color barring it is he just wants a female with some color. he saw a cute peach one with green bars and fell in love. and he loves the purple bars too. he just does not want a plain brown female (as he puts it)
Tyler thanks for the sugestion

Correction there are purple bar Ambanjas (rare) that are actually a purple color!
