Mold and arrested onset of the mold once its begun to develop?

googo151 Dec 21, 2003 06:53 PM

Hey Bob, Rich,
Have you ever had development of mold internally developing in python eggs only to have it arrest (with no further development of the mold) and have the eggs hatch out anyway with no ill effects from it? I Reduced humidity in the incubator for the eggs and discovered this tonight. However, it is too early to tell yet. Just a curiosity. I have had mold in eggs that just continued to develop mold with eventual death of the embryo. Thanks - Angel

Hey Angel –

I’m not Bob or Rich but just wanted to ask: Do you really mean mold “in” the eggs or did you mean “on” them? Thanks for clarifying. I get mold on python eggs frequently enough, but it's almost always after more time has elapsed than with this clutch you just had.

Hey Joan,
Sorry about that, wasn't paying too much atttention to where I was posting. There are a few eggs that are looking a bit greenish, and this usually indicates a dying embryo. However, the eggs didn't look to bad today for what ever reason or reasons. The greenish tinge almost appeared to be some what subsided; hoping that it might be arrested in terms of development, and that the embryos still have a fighting chance.
