Hello,20 long ,screen lid, heat pad or human heating pad, nice size water bowl for soaking,2 hides one on each end of temp gradient, and a substrate of your choice.Make darn sure to put some weight on the top or your snake will get out.If you wanna go the cheaper route, walmart or kmart has clear plastic sweater boxes with lids,Make breathing holes in sides with a heated small screwdriver,it's what ive used, and do the same as above.Just some options ive used and they both work. The glass i think looks better....Paul.....

I have my 2 corns in 20 gallon long tanks. Both are @ a year old. Both have an under tank heater, light during the day, both on one side for the 'warm' side. Light's on timers so they can have a natural day/night cycle. Couple of hiding places and water bowls. I use reptile bark because I like the 'natural' look. I also mist down the cages occasionally. The lid is screen with plenty of clamps to hold it down. I also have half of the screen lid covered with plastic like a zip lock bag to help keep heat/humidity in. It seems to work well. I have seen my corns try to test the lids but if you provide at least 2 hides they should feel secure. And that's about it. I prefer the glass tanks over the plastic as I want to view and see my snakes. Once they got used to their enclosure they started to venture out in the open, mostly in the evenings. A good 'hide' for my corns (and also my milk) is a paper towel roll. They love it and it's cheap. :0)

I spoil my corns. Here is a picture of my tank setup. I used slate to make caves and hides and general stuff to crawl over as well as some nice thick branches. One side is heated the other side has the water bowl. This is a slighty old picture, because now in addition to the slate and branches I also have a fake plant (the kind you use for terrariums that's silk and sticks to the glass with a suction cup.) Popcorn seems to love the set up, she's always crawling around on the branches and fake plant as well as uses different hides. On a side note, she also seems to have much better sheds now that I put a ceremic vase in there with damp paper towels when I know she is in shed. I also have 8 screen clips on the screen top to prevent escapes. My husband calls me paraniod, I call it a good plan, since I've NEVER had a snake escape on me.

Good luck with your new cage.

I also change the cage around frequently as far as arranging the rocks and branches and caves. I do this every week when I clean it out. It seems to keep Popcorn very stimulated and active exploring the "new" surroundings. When I got her late Sept she measured about 17" and feeding on large pinkies, she is now 28" feeding on small hoppers has NEVER refused a meal, eats like a pig and is very very sweet and calm in disposition, so I must be doing something right.
