How long until she lays?

poisonfrog420 Dec 21, 2003 10:14 PM

I have not yet put my male and female togather. When I do put them togather, assuming they mate right away, how long until the female lays the eggs?

About a month to two after mating, the female should lay if gravid. You should notice enlargment like she is always full from eating as the time gets closer/eggs are forming. She may stop eating a couple of weeks before laying. She will also have a prelay shed about a week or so before she lays that is a sure fire signal to get a nest box set up for her.

Good luck and be careful. Breeding corns can be addicting!!!

Thanks. She laid some eggs last year or the year before that I did not expect so I did not know when whe actualy bred. I know that with leos you can get eggs in just a few weeks. Thanks for your answer, Jake.
