Relax, your corn is fine,I have some that squirm, move slowly and just sit in my hand and flick there tongue.I even have a hypo that is pyschotic and thinks it's a half starved wild caught retic. Some signs of stress would be regurging, not feeding, and striking out at you.Just make sure you give him a couple days rest after you feed him so he can digest his meal and you shouldnt have many problems at all....Have Fun...Paul..

Another thing Chuck i forgot to mention. After time you will get a feel for when your snake is hungry, getting ready to shed,or even poop. All this comes with time and it's a blast when it all comes together for you and you can relax and just enjoy them. Then you can start to worry all over again when you start breeding and getting other reptiles,etc.etc.etc.The only thing i sweat about now is my wife killing me for bringing anything else home.hehehe...Paul..

If you're comfortable in the room, the snake is uncomfortably cold. Your touch is approximately 94 degrees F.. Therefore, you're a five fingered heat pad to your snake. Why leave the comfort of a warm hand in favor of freezing your tail off? Pretty smart snake ya got there.

Yea it's your body heat. If your snake is like mine, it will be still until it warms up then watch out.

Years back, the first clutch of snakies that I hatched consisted of only two babies. I gave one to a friend, and kept one. Almost every day, Hubby or I would take it out and let it coil around a wrist while watching t.v. in the evening. It was extremely comfortable there, and would stay virtually motionless for hours if we chose not to put it back in its house.

One night, I dozed off while it was coiled around my wrist. I was only asleep for about five minutes, but it chose that time to wriggle off. Hubby and I just about tore the couch apart searching for it, and didn't find it. We never found it, but we know that it crawled down into a heating duct from which it couldn't escape. About four or five days later, we could smell that it had died in there.

Hubby never lets me forget it. That was the only snake to which he ever bonded. Needless to say, I've never since taken a chance on the same thing happening again. My baby snakies stay in their houses, PERIOD. Except when they're transferred to feeding containers and/or when their houses are being cleaned.

4 out of 5 of my snakes will on occasions just wrap around my hand/arm and just hang out, it's nice and warm for them, and I think they are very comfortable with me and my husband holding them(the new one isn't as tame yet but we're working on that). 3 of them LOVE it when I wear my flannel shirt with the pocket because that's a nice warm soft place for them to curl up and sleep. I wouldn't worry about them being stress, because in my opinion it's the exact opposite, they are comfortable with you. Be thankful. I love my corns, because the more I hold them, the more I figure out their personalities and Paul is right, you know when they are going to shed, poop and are hungry the more you interact with them. I believe the more you hold them them more you bond with them and the better you take care of them.

I have a childrens python that likes to curl up and sleep on my stomach under my shirt. My Ghost corn likes to chill in my hand as well.
