Trying to keep the fun in Chelonian care
I have 3 adult males and 2 adult females that are around 14 years old, as well as a 1 year old baby. The adults are in the fridge right now. I will put the baby in soon.
I have a 51 year old and a four year old. They are both sleeping in my garage right now

When I was a kid, we had one that spent the night under the couch. In the morning she would head for the front door, we'd let her out in the yard for the day. Everyday around 5 you'd find her on the front porch waiting to be let in.
Hi
I have 4 0r 5 that span over 3 generations. The original pair we got when I was a little kid over 35 years ago. Some of their babies grew up and are starting to reproduce themselves now. They live in the same family home with my parents in Southern California.
Wow, that's even older than me!
Stacey, out of curiosity, how do you know it's 51? Has it been in captivity that long? And how long have you had it?

I adopted him as a rescue from 90 year old woman that could not care for him anymore and she had the original paper work from when she registered him with Fish and Game in 1953. He still has his original sticker!
He is the coolest guy. He chases my husband when he waters the plants everyday in the summer so he can have a "shower". I have had him for the past five years. He was pretty sick when I first got him after coming out of brumation (very thin, nasty URI, loaded with parasites) so he couldn't brumate for the first two years (actually, he probably could have the second year, but I was a chicken!), but he's healthy now and brumates every year. They have such great personalities.

Stacy,
I don't keep tortoises, but I found this one on Easter near Mount Charleston, NV. For more photos, visit the "Herping Las Vegas" section of my website.
