Wondering if this is a normal coloration for beardies...

nekomi Dec 22, 2003 09:16 AM

Hi all,

I'm taking care of a professor's bearded dragon over Christmas break, and I'm wondering if she is a normal phase or if she is some type of color variant. I'll be posting pics in an hour or so, but for now, here's a description:

Light, warm skin tone with light grey bands across back and tail. Subtle orange hue creeping up sides of belly to spine, and more pronounced on tail and behind the ears. Flaming orange/red chin. She looks pretty much normal as far as I can tell, aside from her coloring being slightly paler and the aforementioned very subtle orange cast. I'm new to beardies, so any info would be appreciated!!

I would not say a normal at all. He definitely has some other color phase crossed in. Hmm the bottom pic makes me think possibly a Pastel or some kinda colored hypo cross. I could never tell you for sure, but that's my guess

To me it looks like a sandfire orange/ hypo(snow) cross. It has the pattern and beard coloring like sandfires have and the faded coloring and washed out look that it seems most snow/color crosses get. At any rate nice looking dragon!!
