Here is a small (2x2) Rat Rack I made on Thanksgiving Day for ~$100 with the auto watering system and trays.
It is working out quite well, especially the watering system with the 5gal. bucket, I will only need to service that about every other month.

It's only "fastened" by gravity. I cut the hardware cloth so 1/4" - 3/8" of each square is left "pointing down", this is all that is neccesary to keep the thing from sliding around. It is free for me to take off whenever I need to. There have not been any problems in the month I have been using them with them not being secured.
