Thermometer placement

Bought two Exo-Terra Thermometers today. They arn't the strips.
They are the circular plastic ones. Just curious on where I should place them. Inside/outside, top/bottom/center?

The only reason you would care about the temperature is for the comfort of your snake. Put the thermometers where the snake will be. One at the hot end and one at the cold end so you know the extremes the snake may experience.
