Same to you, David, & the rest of the guys & gals on this board. If my geophysical science is workin' properly, Santa Claus ought to be visiting your part of the world before he does North America. Hope he does well by you, mate.

Hello David,

I hope all is well with you in PNG. We're (My Family) healthy, and the children are nervously awaiting the dawn of Christmas Morning to see what manner of goodies they'll find under the tree.... We wish you a merry Christmas too old friend. Be careful and visit us here a little more often in the coming year, okay?

G'day Tom!

Things over this way are going well indeed ... I'm actually making a rare appearance at my folks place this year, and while I think I'll scream if Mum says "can't you find a safer job" one more time ... it has been fun so far to catch up with the family.

Make sure you catch the Premiere of the new season of "Snake Wranglers" on National Geographic - it's at 7.30pm on the 4th January on the East Coast of the USA (not sure of the West Coast timeslot) - although I haven't seen any of the final product, the first show features my work in PNG! I'll be awaiting your review with anticipation!

While you're watching that, I'll be off on another shoot for the series - I'd better not say where - it can be a surprise!!

Enjoy your holidays - throw a few snowballs for me!!

All the best & take care...

David

David,

I'll do my best to see the video. With five kids to fight with to gain control of the TV remote, it might be a challenge

Listen to Mother and have a nice Christmas dinner. By the time you read this (at the earliest) it will be Friday in your part of the globe and Christmas '03 will be a memory. We had a wonderful day, and although we didn't have any snow for making snowballs, I did eat a few extra oysters (Chesapeake Bay) for you. They are delicious, and have become a Christmas tradition at our Christmas breakfast table.

It's too cold to snake-hunt, so I've cleaned up the fishing tackle and have been off to the Atlantic ocean for striped bass fishing the last few weeks. We haven't boated any monsters, but we're headed back out Saturday to give them a try again. Several boats have caught 40 pounders in the past week. I'm still looking for "bubba," that 50 pound-class line stripper that makes me feel like both (arthritic) shoulders are going to be loosed from their sockets. As soon as the bass season closes, we'll be off to the James River (30 minutes from home) for trophy-class blue catfish... the cat-fishermen have been catching many in the 40 pound class with several over 50 pounds reported... so winter is fishing time for me.... and as soon as the weather warms enough to take the little ones, we'll be heading back into the Bay for spot, croaker and flounder fishing this spring.

Again, I wish you all the best in the coming year. If you ever get State-side, we'll have to get you out on the boat to catch a few of those big cats to give you something to talk about when you get back home

Afterall.... anyone can catch rattlesnakes
