?'s about response time

aliceinwl Dec 22, 2003 06:55 PM

For those of you who do a lot of business via email, what is the accepted response time?

I emailed a breeder about buying a gecko 3 days ago, but have not heard back. How long should I wait before resending the email? I've never had this problem before as everyone else I've purchased from has emailed me within a day or two. I'm anxious for a response so I can purchase the geckos or look elsewhere, but I don't want to "be a pest".

Thanks,
Alice

normally i would say 3 days and you need to try and email again just asking if they recieved your email... if still no responce within another three days i figure"piss on em" and take my business elsewhere
however, this being the holidays and all you may want to wait say an extra couple of days... and remember, [bleep] happens sometimes and emails dont get recieved or the common technical difficulties involved with PC's........ if a phone number is availible try calling.... but use the same time frame (like for instance you get the answering machine)... i just say piss on you, ill take my money elsewhere where i will get good promt service and seems to give a damn... just me you can find what you want elsewhere normally

. . . how bad do you want this person's geckos?

I'm willing to wait for a response, if it is a specialty critter, or if the breeder has a good rep.

Quality is worth waiting for. But if you are looking things that you can get from a number of sources - give him one more chance, then take Robin's advice.

Taking Robin's advice? SSSSHHHHHUUUUDDDDEEEEERRRRR . . . . .

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two

Weekends are not business days, and so they don't count. Today is Monday...so I take it you contacted Saturday or possibly Friday? Give them at least 2-3 business days to reply if they don't they may be on vacation, it is the holidays and many people go away this week.

I think at this time of year I would be much more patient than usual because everyone is traveling and has stuff going on. But you are free to take your business wherever you like.

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to see how much time you guys thought would be acceptable before re-sending my inquiry. I don't want to be a pest
