That is one screamin' meamie!!! And here I thought I was only into reds. If you all keep this up I'll have 40 dragons and there will be no room at my house for my husband.

Paul is this something rather new showing up, the colors appearing on the belly? The Hypo I bought from Rob & Vicki earlier this season has the starting of this type of coloring. It started on the soft skin under the beard and under his arms/chest area it's very orange/peach color, and more and more as he gets older the yellow is creeping further around onto the belly on the sides, and back legs. Not so much in the dark circle pattern a normal dark dragon would have when cold, but almost like it was spray painted. Like the top part of the scales is colored and the pattern between the scales white. I'm hopping it continues as he ages. Did yours always have this coloring or was it something that showed up as he matured, and his beard colored up? It seems to be increasing as Kami gets older. That's a very intense yellow coloring your has. Is this one of the ones you think might be hyperxanthic that you described in you genetics post?

Coloring on the underside isn't something that's really new in my animals. Most of my hypos have had color matching your description for a couple of years already. It seems to be a trait displayed on more colorful hypos. That coloring is something that progresses with age. The animal in the pic is one of the offspring that I noted before may be hyperxanthic. Not all of the offspring displayed coloring on the belly to that degree. I only have a few that actually have the markings on the belly in color.

Thanks Paul. Yeah the only Hypo I would call high color here is the one from Rob & Vicki with the beginning of this on the chest and coming around the back legs and lower tummy as he is getting older. The others are more light creamy colored with pure white bellies. That's a screaming yellow you posted. I haven't seen many adult hypo's that hold that bright of colors on the bodies so far. I would love to check out his offspring in the future for myself. Very nice!! Have a Merry Christmas.

I have to say, that of all the breeders that have posted on this board, pauls dragons show the most specific colors and are the closest to what I would call true morphs. It would seem that whatever criteria he and sandfire is using to breed/develope these morphs is working as most of the types that he shows can be easily identified as the color that they are represented to be. It seems that when someone posts a picture of a yellow or orange or pastel ect, often times you look and say welll I guess that is sort of orange/yellow/red whatever. When I see pics from paul it is in your face obvious what the color is. Good work!
