I picked up one of my geckos to get him out to clean his cage last night and it made this strange squeaking/barking sound... I guess I p*ssed him off huh? He/She is a Juvenile...I've yet to be able to sex it... My other one is a sweetie. Very calm and laid back.

This was the same night I picked up my WTF and it squeaked at me.... I figure the whole bunch must be PMSing... LOL

Many juveniles will hiss and screech at you, sometimes if you just open the enclosure they'll go into a hissy fit. It's because you scare the cr#p out of them. But of course there are times when you need to move them (to clean the enclosure etc)

I think I've noted about five different sounds geckos make.

My first gecko was a hungry, fast growing girl and very demanding. I had her in my office, where she could see me while I worked on the computer, and she would come out in the day and if her feed dish was empty she would put her hands in the feed dish and stare at me. If I ignored her, she would start barking at me until I came over and put some mealworms in her dish. She had me trained pretty well!

i recently aquired a juvi leo. he/she barks and hiss at me too. also what i notice from her too is, she'll stand real high plus flick her tail.
