Why I hate DEREMENSIS....this is GOOD(pic)...

eric adrignola Dec 23, 2003 09:18 AM

OK, those of you that have read some of my recent posts know what my situation is...

I have a big enclosure, with 4 deremensis, one adult male, one subadult male, and 2 WC adult females.

My big male has been acting more manly recnetly, but refuses to court/mate with the females. One of my females is big--huge actually--and is, of course, receptive, friendly to the males, and not getting any attention from the present boss...

A little while ago I added the little male to try and illicit some territorial behavior from my big guy, in hopes to trigger some courtship between him and the females.

Well...it looked like it was working.

But............................

I should have suspected HE'D try it............

That little 3 horned turd.................

He's got SOME NERVE.......

LOL! You have to admire his effort though. Ardi Abate had a little fischeri who kept trying to mate with a large female parsoni in their outdoor cage. The parsoni ignored him. She said he looked so discouraged perched on her huge back.

funny thing is....he was even doing the "back rub" thing with his back foot. And, for a while, he was holding onto her by her eyeballs! He couldn't even get his hands around them, they were so big.
