Could anyone show me to a breeder of mexican cantils Agkistrodon bilineatus bilineatus. I've found a few but prices are awful high. Does anyone move 'em for less that $100.

Thanks

Market price for Agkistrodon b. bilineatus lies between $125-$150, and the demand is relatively high. You may find them a little cheaper at shows, but it will be a challenge to find someone who retails them for less than $100.

Unfortunately, this attitude is all too prevalent in all branches of herpetoculture. Everyone wants to acquire top quality animals, but is unwilling to pay even market price for the animals. This is precisely the reason why some species and top-notch bloodlines are never seen on the market, but instead traffic only in select circles that will keep them from entering the public market.

If one is unwilling to spend the extra $50 or so for the animal itself, then one must wonder how this attitude reflects when the animal requires veterinary care or other expenses.
