Could You Handle This Stress?? (Mojave Photo)

Pastel Jungle Dec 23, 2003 11:26 AM

Well I was in a great mood this morning when I woke up and was getting ready for work.. I also like to exercise my "Mojave" and usually sit with him in my living room while he crawls around (exercise). Well, I thought he would get to hang with me in my bathroom this morning while I was getting ready and off he went into the corner and I went about my business. I end up getting a biz call and then make a little food and it was awhile before I walked by and noticed his drawer was open. My stomach dropped to the floor!! I immediately ran around my whole apartment to see if I could get a quick glance of him in the open somewhere, but I was basically out of luck. He was nowhere. I tore through my apartment like a madman looking everywhere and leaving disaster behind. He was nowhere!! I was going down in history as the dumbest person to ever work with "Mojaves" possibly any morph all together.. I was breaking into a sweat and going crazy. Could you imagine somewhat working yourself over financially to get something and then you in all your brightness let it crawl away!!!! So I was on my way to get a flashlight for the only three remaining places where he could possibly be (crevices that would be hard to get him, but could not escape my place). First I was going to take towels and fill in all three crevices and decided to re-search the bathroom (where this fiasco began)just to make sure their weren't any holes (he's 500 grams so has to be a big hole). I had thought I searched it fully, but I got down on my knees and did a hole search on the toilet and what did I find??? My "Mojave"!!!!!!!! Neo (named after neosporin ointment for a little head cut he had when I bought him) was relaxing all wedged up behind my toilet.. I was overwhelmed with relief... Some water as lubricant and some soft tugs and my little guy was free. He is now relaxing in his apartment (boaphile rack) where he is supposed to be... Anyway, I have to go to work (which I'm already pretty late)but thought I would share this kinda funny, stressful story. I did learn two things though.. Dont ever pull a moron move like that again (especially with the jewel of your collection), and that my apartment complex did a crappy job painting!!!
Enjoy the photo and Happy Holidays,
Tom Baker and Neo

Too funny!! I'm glad it had a happy ending!! You really captured the moment with that story, that's for sure...lol!! Made me feel like I did it!! Believe it or not I was taking some pics earler today and left TWO of my drawers open (long day) and flipped out!! These held my baby Kenyans and although they're not $,7,000 - it was still borderline traumatic I know you had to be freaking out BIGTIME!! I wonder just how many of us have experienced what you did today...more than a few would be my guess.

After all the stress you went through to get him, and now you're trying to lose him? Great story and we're glad you found him!

We had a similiar thing happen just the other day...we put our Genetic Striped 100% Hets together for breeding, and I apparently left the Freedom Breeder open just enough for the female to go on a journey of her own. When I got to the facility to check everybody I noticed everything in the bathroom was knocked over from the sink to the toilet top. The first thing I did was freak out then I looked at all the racks and low and behold the Hets container was open! I looked inside and the male was still there, so the search began for the female. After having this happen a few times you get pretty good at thinking like a snake, and I found her wedged behind a file cabinet?

Actually this story has a good ending because she had been placed with the male on several occasions with no breeding, but after her adventure the next day BREEDING!!!

Happy Holidays to all,
