Are there any CB Russian tortoises out there?

dragonmlv Dec 23, 2003 01:25 PM

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to find a female Russian for my male, but after looking through all the ads, and checking all the local petstores, I have found that there are only WC Russians for sale. Does anyone know where I can get a CB, adult or baby, Russian tortoise? Thanks

Had you been in the UK, I could have supplied you with cb, I've dozens, upto 15mths.

Having said that, our UK prices will take them out of your (yank) price range.
A cb Russian will sell here for £150 ($225 ?).

Which brings me to another point raised by Ed, the major reason why your breeding the rarer species is the fact that we are unable to import them (CITES) & the cost of whats available in the UK also is prohibitive. Stars will fetch anything upto £1000 ($1500)each, so how's one supposed to get a group without bankrupting yourself?
