The seller lists this as a bull X northern pine cross. This looks like it could pass for an anerythristic bull. A very pretty animal. But definitely could cause a lot of problems.

I can see characteristics of both Bull and Pine in there. Maybe to someone who is not familiar it might look like a Bull, but the head and the large blotches says it all. That would make a good pet but that's about it.

a pit expert would probably have no problem. But I'm not a pit savvy guy, so when I look at it, it reminds me of an anerythristic bull (based on photos I've seen) and I could see it ending up being mistaken for one someday.

It's interesting how the patterns have blended in this animal. I'd love to see what the parents looked like. I'll bet it was a very nice northern pine. I wonder if the bull had much yellow in it.

helps illustrate why buying a La Pine without doing your homework on breeders and genetics can get you burned.

I never saw an LA pine that attractive! LOL

I don't think you have seen many CHIEF. I currently have 5 ch babies and they closely resemble those. KB has had several LA Pines and has seen enough to be able to offer good advice. Fact is over a month ago when this add first popped up, I made the same comment. "Looks alot like the CH babies we have"

Not trying to be a butt, but Kevin was correct in his observation. Granted, there are other hatchlings we have and have seen that look nothing like the one pictured, but we have a wc adult from Mike Monlezaun and one of KJ's other WC females that really look quiet different from the one pictured and many of the others in our colony.

Otheres with experience may correct me, but I have noticed that there is some change in looks with LA Pines from say hatchling through to about 3 years old. Some we have, have always looked the same, but others have taken a different look as they aged and the pattern stretched and faded.

Just my observations

The common denominator is "DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND VERIFY THE SOURCES" or you may get burned.
