hey guys there are lots of big moths by my house and i was wondering instead of being stupid bugs they could be food for my geckos (could i do this with crested and tokays also?)

I am a little concerned because I heard that the dust on moths wings is actually quite an irritant to many would-be predators, and I am not sure if it might have other deleterious effects.
On the other hand it might be a good variation on crickets, but wild bugs can contain parasites and pathogens, old world animals and new world pathogens don't mix (from experience) so be cautious @ best

I have fed moths numerous times and they love them. Only problem i have had is when they land in the water bowl it gets all dusty then I have to change it.
