All Glass Aquarium Dishwasher Safe

JoeyP Jun 03, 2003 08:13 PM

Well...Is It? I want to run my 10 gallon cricket tank through the dishwasher and was wondering if it's safe. It it's ONLY hot water, I'm sure it will be fine. But when does the element turn on? Is it only during a heated dry, or does it come on during the actual washing cycle as well? I was planning to put my tank on the bottom rack (only place it'll fit) on a light wash with energy saver dry as opposed to a heated dry. Oh and this would be with out any detergent. The only thing I'm worried about is the plastic around the edges.

Why not just wash it by hand? LOL, seems much easier to do that and I wouldnt want anything that was on the cricket tank in my dishwasher. chris

LOL, yeah easier and less nasty. I have a double sink that I was most my stuff in one half. Then put the plug in and fill with a pretty strong bleach water solution overnight when i get up it is drained I then rinse it. If I need the tub I do the same thing. I hate cleaning my cricket containers. But has gotten better as wormman's crickets die less than my previous provider. And nevermid the crickets from pet shops. I will never buy them again after seeing how they keep them. Ok I am off to bed now.

I've cleaned out everything, I just thought it might be a good idea to get it really clean.
