White Moss?

ridge Dec 23, 2003 10:32 PM

Has anyone seen a white, or at least light colored tan, long stranded moss? or perhaps it is a grass? I saw it in someones pictures on a website and haven't been able to find it again. I would like to find some for my new tank. I am mainly just looking for a different effect against and on a rock wall background.

It is sphagnum moss, and there is a post about it just a few down from here.

It's not sphagnum moss that I am looking for but it was about the same color, I think this was more of a grass. I'll keep looking.

could this, by chance, be Tillandsia usneoides (spanish moss)? If so, you can find this stuff in abundance in Florida and further south and alot of craft and pet stores sell it in a dead state. Your best bet would be to contact someone in Fla. that can collect some live and send it to you (if that's even legal). Other than spanish moss, I really don;t know what else it could be.
