NEWS!!!! Albino bearded dragons - It's Confirmed

CheriS Dec 24, 2003 01:02 AM

The first surviving albino bearded dragons have hatched and are thriving at 2 weeks old. There are 4 of them with 8 normal looking siblings.

I am so excited about these as they are in good caring hands and not the product of inbreeding to produce them.

Click the link below to read the story and see more pictures of them.

Very cool! Thank you for the story. I could not get the whole story to come up on youe site. I think it is problem with my "antiquated, powered by hamsters on a wheel" internet connection. I try back later.

All of us in my room right now are absolutely amazed. We always thought it would only be a myth. Lets hope these can be bred sucessfully so that maybe within our lifetimes they will be affordable. I hope they can survive the sun!

So is this something the breeder was intentionally trying to do, or was it just pure luck?

BigFil Dec 24, 2003 08:08 AM

If you read the original post and the story it says that it was not due to intentional breeding.

I realize that, I do know how to read... I'm curious if they were able to find some traits in certain dragons that they thought could produce albinos or if it was just the luck of the draw.

Ody Dec 24, 2003 08:20 AM

Well, color me embarrased as hell. I thought it said inbreeding in both cases. I read the article twice, and must have put the "in" in there both times...my apologies .

It's all good. Happy Holidays and healthy dragons to you.

Where were they hatched? In the U.S.?
