How old is your BD, and are you "gutloading" them like you should with crix? After six mos. I found out that Draconis prefers mealies (and later on supers) to crix, and have since been keeping him nice and healthy on them. I try to give him newly molted ones, but he doesn't mind crunching through a couple others. I put crix gutload (the dry, crumbled jar from Flukers) in place of the oatmeal they ship them with, and that way Draconis gets the calcium he needs from them. I powder his greens every week with calcium and vitamins, and he is fine, fit, and happy.

Most brearded dragon owners feel mealworms should never be fed more often than an occaisonal treat. For young and small dragons, the heavier chitchin (exoskeleton) of mealworms can cause digestion problems and even impaction if too many are fed. Larger and adult dragons can handle mealworms as an occaisonal treat (couple a month is fine) without any ill effects.
Personally, I see no benefit in feeding dragons mealworms at all. They don't have as much 'meat' as crickets and really don't look healthy to me (or at least the onces I was able to get). Silkworms are a much healthier and safer worm to feed your dragon in my opinion.
I have 2 6yr old males who live on giant mealworms. They also eat greens which I occasionally dust with vitamins. They are healthy and active.
They were fed a variety of insects, mostly crickets as young-uns. They got spoiled a few years ago and now won't eat crickets or anything else, only mealworms.
