My dragon's can't keep her eye open for a long period of time.

My female dragon can't keep her right eye open for a long period of time. I've been washing her eye out with water and then giving her a couple drops of visine per day. Is that ok? I think that I've read it in a book that eye drops are ok. Anyhow, is there anyone who's experienced this before with their dragons and can give me some helpful tips? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Get her to a vet to see if theres a problem with the eye. That is the best and right thing to do. Eyes are a iffy thing that you dont want to get worse or out of control.

any noticeable injury to the eye or crusty diposits around the eye? Or, inflamation? These would indicate infection or injury to the eye...I wouldn't recommend vasine as it may cause more harm than good. Better to take your dragon to a vet as soon as you can..but this being christmas eve, you probably won't be able to till Saturday at best, Monday at worse, depending on the hours your local vet keeps.

Thanks for the response. There's no inflammation or swelling in her eye. She keeps her right eye closed at all times except for when she's basking in the sunlight. Then both her eyes are open and stay open. I think that her right eye might be sensitive to light. Is that possible? She just seems to prefer keeping one eye shut. But why not when she's basking in the sunlight?
