from what I have heard it is not digestable and the calcium it is infused with, isn't absorbed as much if at all as claimed on the package. Because it is coarse and undigestable, it can cause impaction (blockage) in bearded dragons, especially young ones. This doesnt mean if you use it your dragon is 100% guarenteed to get impacted but there is a greater change he will. Some people have kept dragons on calci-sand all their lives and never had any problems, others have had problems. There is a greater risk of problems only.
Most breeders recommmend using paper towel, newsprint, butcher's paper or other non particulate substrates for all dragons under 10" long, then washed playsand can be used. Personally I decided not to risk impaction by not using any particulate substrates and use plastic tablecloth instead. It's cheap, easy to clean, comes in many colours and patterns and can be 'padded' easily with a layer of papertowel underneath. (this also absorbs any liquids that may seap through little holes put into the plastic by dragon claws).
its bad to use with babies fromn what im told, but when they are juveniles it fine to use with them
