does it have another name or do you know the scientific name cause Ive looked through all me field guides and cant find it.if you tell me I can probably tell you how to care for it.

sorry I looked it up and could not find any captive care info.although I did find that some populations of this animal are parthenogenic.sometime soon I will possibly be getting a trio of checkered wihipotails if it is possible to keep them out side all year.

hey NICK if you get those whiptails Ive got western whiptail care I own One male that I keep in a 3 gallon with grapvine a rock bowl a flat rock and a cork bark and a basking spot lamp and here a little care because westerns and checkereds kind of have the care so heres what Ive learned so far and some of this I got from coloradoherp.com Im not sure if thats how you spell it but its somthing like that but anyways here it its a trio can be housed in a 10 gallon tank with sand about 2 inches deep and a rock bowl in a corner and a stick in the cage is optional but mine likes his by the way his name is pete so going on they need rock to clime on and a basking rock to they like to bask and a half log and spray the cage with a mister every week to get the dirt hard and packed so they can dig because they tunnel under the rocks pete has tunneled uner his basking rock and under to his half log Ill take pictures anyways feeding pete takes medium gutloaded crickets he chases them fircely so I hope tis will help you
