African dwarf frog question

SarahRuss Dec 24, 2003 03:01 PM

Hi,
I've always been interested in ADFs. I actually got one once, but I had a faulty filter and he passed on shortly after I got him. Well, I bought a new filter and I'm considering getting another frog. I don't want to make any mistakes this time. I have a ten gallon tank that houses several baby apple snails. I have a filter, a heater and a pump. The PH is a little off though, is that a problem for frogs? I know it is for fish but none of the african dwarf frog sites say anything about PH. Does this setup sound safe enough?
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Everything sounds ok for them. They aren't too picky about pH and can tolerate 6.5 - 8.5 but prefer it around 7. It'd be good if you could sort out the pH before you got the frogs.

When you say the pH is "off", what do you mean exactly?
