Help with my new babie...

lazandlouie Dec 24, 2003 03:47 PM

I just received a new baby frilled dragon from one of the stores on kingsnake.com. My problem is he's not eating, i've shown him the crickets (let them run around in front of him), i've also had tweezers and tried that but it didnt work. I force fed him yesterday (my first day to have him), but I know that shouldnt be done. Is he just stressed out from the shipping and he'll calm down, or what. They say you shouldnt handle babies to much and they shouldnt see people or they can become stressed, but that cant happen until he can eat on his own. Anything will help. Thanks Everyone

You pretty much just want to leave him/her alone for the first few days. Make sure it can't see any pets or people walking by all of the time. You definitely shouldn't have force fed him/her on the first day... they need time to settle in before they become comfortable and begin eating.

Keep your new frilled well hydrated and spray him/her a couple of times a day and be patient. if it's still not feeding after 3 days or so, you should contact the breeder and/or post a question in this forum.
