I agree Eric, merry CHRISTmas to everyone too. Several days ago I traveled out of state to pick up an assortment of venomous herps from a private collector who, due to failing health, didn't want to risk a bite and felt he couldn't give these snakes the attention that they deserve. So, with tongs, tubes and hooks in hand, I headed off on an 8-hour trip. What came home? Here are my new office buds:
1.1 Atheris ceratopherus (amazing looking bush vipers)
1.1 Atheris "squams" (one is bright green, the other red...feels a lot like Christmas!)
1 White lipped viper (stunning but VERY aggressive)
1 Atheris desaixi (VERY RARE and drop dead gorgeous)
1 Desert Horned Viper (probably the coolest looking snake of the bunch!)
1.1 PUFF ADDERS (one of the most imposing of snakes....between the loud "puffs" and the lightning fast strikes, this is one snake you don't want to "muck" with...but I enjoy working with them very, very much. The female is a brilliant yellow)
2 very red looking atrox (maybe ruber?)
2 very cute baby squams (nothing cuter than a baby squam....well, a baby couperi has them beat!)
1 pygmy rattler
Many of these are going to some friends who are licensed private venomous collectors but I will be keeping a "few" (hey, my wife even thought that some of them were cute and wanted me to keep some so how could I pass up this moment....what a Christmas gift!).
Hope everyone on the forum has a wonderful, joyous and relaxing day (and Holiday season no matter what you celebrate).
Cheers, Rob
