Incubator question..................

gmherps Dec 24, 2003 05:55 PM

I have an old double glass sliding door Coke machine. The motor is shot, and I want to find out alternate heating methods such as; flexwatt, pig blankets, etc..... Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for the help!

I think you'll want to increase the thermal mass in the incubator. Find some water tight plastic containers (2 liter soda bottles would work) and lay them on flex watt in the bottom of the setup.

After that you'll have to check your vertical thermal gradiant and see if it is good enough. You may have to add more flexwatt elsewhere.

Also, you may try to put a strip of weather stripping in the gap between the two sliding doors if they overlap.
