Dwarf Caiman Enclosure Questions/Need Advice and pics!!!

arboreals Dec 24, 2003 09:56 PM

I'll be keeping a pair of baby caiman and I really need to find out some info about enclosures before they get picked up. What should I use a Trough or a pond? I'm looking at a 6ft trough or a pond close to that size. I'm going to make it 1/2water 1/2land. Think that confuses me is with the side of land (soild/clay) won't digging down just lead to water? How much room do they need to dig down? Sure I can put the dirt/clay higher then the water level and they can dig that far down untill they hit water/mud but how many inches up should I go? Many thanks in advance to those who reply, advice and pics are always welcome! Thanks again,
John

Why don't you seperate the water and land using
some plexi glass? Then you won't have to worry
about how deep they burrow.
