Hard Lesson Learned & Need Dealer Advice

BrianT Dec 25, 2003 01:06 AM

Well, the three uromastyx I purchased last week were lost in the postal system and nobody has any clue as to where they are. At this point, if the package were to even arrive, I assume I'd find three DOA's. I contacted the seller and he has agreed to refund the price of the animals, but not the cost of shipping. Being that this transaction has been horrible from the beginning, I agreed. It was a hard lesson learned after many years spent in the hobby. I never had a shipping horror story to share until now.
I have a cage all set up for some uromastyx along with a lot of kale, collard greens, and dandelion greens, so I'm not going to let it go to waste. I did some online shopping tonight and found that Xtreme Reptiles has adult mali's available, so I'm planning on purchasing a trio. Anybody ever dealt with them? I know they've been around for a couple years now, have always had reasonable prices, and I've never heard anything bad about them, but just wanna double check. All I want are three healthy uromastyx to have as "pets."

I am sorry about your terrible experience, but it does not surprise me at this time of year. I think this may be a good lesson for the whole forum, be careful about having animals shipped around Christmas. As far as Extreme, I have not purchased from them but a friend of mine has and his experience was good. I think others from this forum may have also. Good luck, I hope you eventually get your three new malis, all healthy.

Bushmaster brought six kajillion "captive bred" baby Ornates, and they looked extremely good. i would seriously consider those over some adults, any time.

his regular customers like Regal, Xtreme, Ben Seigel, those guys may still have some of that stock, and it would be very worth while, as it is the same stock we started our groups with, and i have been very pleased.
